Client Services Internships (Summer)
Location: Texas or New York (Flexibility to work remotely)

Overview

As the leading software provider for Transportation Management Systems, Transfinder is seeking an enthusiastic, career- minded and motivated student to join the team as an intern. The prime candidate for this internship will be someone who loves problem solving, has an analytical mind, and is looking to develop their professional skill set in preparation for graduation and beyond. 

The intern will report directly to the manager of the Data Team and will work closely with Data Specialists, Project Managers, Engineers, Applications Specialists (trainers), and Support Services personnel. Learning Objectives

  • Fielding technical calls from clients needing support for both their existing network and their access to Transfinder's flagship product, Routefinder Pro.
  • Providing technical support to software end users, including, but not limited to, topics like map editing, data imports, and troubleshooting technical questions.
  • Working alongside an Installation Engineer and Support Specialists to learn the best practices for installing software, the set-up of an end user's environment.
  • Researching and collecting Custom Client Data. This position will require the individual to understand the importance of data security and be conscious of the data they are reviewing at all times.
  • Analyzing and providing usability feedback on all client data to include; student/parent profiles, staff/driver profiles, vehicle/fleet
  • information, safe zones, alternate sites used for student transportation, and much more.
  • Aiding the Client Services Team in the maintenance and expansion of Transfinder's process documentation.
  • Working with the overall Client Services Department staff contributing to the team environment, providing creative ideas, offering unique solutions, and process enhancements.
  • Articulating technology and product positioning to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Being a part of the continuous development and testing cycles that occur in today's leading software companies by participating in QA and development support activities.

 Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in current degree program.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable being on the phone communicating with all levels of professional individuals.

Software Support Specialist

Overview

As a Software Support Specialist, you'll leverage your strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting experience to deliver exceptional support for the most innovative technology in the industry. Software Support Specialists work closely with Transfinder clients (School District Transportation and IT staff across North America) to resolve reported product issues.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical problems with Transfinder products, providing effective solutions and guidance to our clients
  • Regularly communicates with clients while tracking progress on client issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Clearly and accurately update case progress within CRM by documenting troubleshooting notes and issue resolution
  • Replicate and document potential product bugs for investigation by the development team
  • Create and maintain knowledgebase articles to expand team expertise
  • Stay up to date on product features and functionality to better support our clients

Requirements

Applications Specialist
Location: Texas or New York (Flexibility to work remotely)

As a member of the Training team in the Client Services Department, the Applications Specialist works closely with new and existing clients, providing customized and detailed training across all Transfinder products. They work closely with Client Project Managers, Client Relations and Support Services teams, collaborating on projects and providing status of open projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote an atmosphere that encourages collaboration, optimism and dedication.
  • Work with Client Project Manager to customize a training plan to suit the needs of clients at various skill levels, and ensure that the training plan is meeting the client’s needs and goals. 
  • Conduct one on one training sessions remotely, via web-based meeting applications, on all aspects of software.
  • Lead training webinars available to all current clients.
  • Teach multi-day Transfinder University classes to all levels of users.
  • Travel to client locations for on-site group training.
  • Lead training seminars during Transfinder’s Annual Client Summit.
  • Maintain clear, complete, and accurate documentation related to all training activities including tracking time spent on client and department-related activities in a CRM.
  • Collaborate with other training team members to develop new and updated training materials.
  • Contribute to the growth of the department and the company by participating in special projects.
  • Contribute to the development of course materials for Transfinder University.

The QA Lead will be responsible for both overseeing a team of QA Engineers and carrying out tasks individually. They will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality of our products through thorough test cases and robust testing.

  • Participate in sprint planning and long-term department goal planning
  • Thoroughly test the UI, business logic, performance, and other aspects of software to ensure all products developed are free from defects and errors
  • Document and appropriately report defects and potential risk. Track progress and results in Jira
  • Coordinate group testing efforts with individuals both within and outside the Technology department
  • Make suggestions to improve the product and features being tested
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes
