The district’s Stopfinder app provides real-time updates and communication features for families.
Parma City Schools, OH is encouraging parents to download its new and improved Stopfinder app, which provides real-time updates on bus locations and advanced communication opportunities between parents and the transportation department.
Why it matters
The new app is part of the district’s recent switch to a new bus routing system, Transfinder. The Stopfinder app aims to give parents more visibility and communication channels regarding their children’s bus transportation.
The details
The Stopfinder app allows parents to see their student’s bus schedule and location in real-time, as well as set up GeoAlerts to receive notifications when the bus arrives at school. Parents can also directly message the transportation department through the app, such as to report a child not riding the bus. The district can then send out notices to specific schools, buses, or bus stops.
“This app has so many different levels to it. Not only can parents see their student’s bus schedule and information, but the app also gives a real-time location so they can see exactly where the bus is.”
– Brett Campbell, Transportation Supervisor
“They can also communicate back-and-forth with the transportation department. Parents can directly message us if their child isn’t feeling well and they’re not going to be on the bus.”
– Brett Campbell, Transportation Supervisor
What’s next
The district is still working to get more parents to sign up for the new Stopfinder app.
