PLUM, Pa. — Plum Borough School District (PA) is rolling out new safety measures and technology for the 2026-27 school year, including a bus tracking app and upgraded security features.

Plum parents will now have the ability to track their child's school bus by using an app on their phone. The Stopfinder app provides real-time updates on bus schedules and locations, allowing parents to monitor delays or confirm on-time arrivals.

A promotional video from Stopfinder says, "You'll know your child is safe in real time. You can also set up an alert zone, and Stopfinder will let you know when the bus is getting close. With Stopfinder, you'll have direct two-way communication with your school's transportation department."

As students return to Plum Middle School, they are greeted by a new entrance. It's part of an ongoing construction project. Security cameras have also been upgraded throughout the district's schools to enhance safety measures.

Work is still being done outside the middle school, one of two construction projects in the district.

The second project, at O'Block Elementary, is scheduled for completion by the end of next summer. It includes a new playground for students and updated cafeteria spaces inside the school.
