Top Transportation Teams Announced

Schenectady, NY – June 24, 2026 – Six school districts from across North America have won the fourth-annual Top Transportation Teams award, including one school district that took home the prize three straight years.

Winners are located in four states.

Since its inception, the winners are divided into two categories, teams with 100 or more members and teams with fewer than 100 members.

Winners in the 100-plus category are: Franklin Township Community School Corp. in Indiana; Hoover City Schools in Alabama; and Rockwall ISD in Texas.

Winners in the under 100 category are: Franklin Square Union Free School District in New York; Pembroke Central School District in New York and Wa-Nee Community Schools in Indiana.

Wa-Nee becomes the first “three-peat” winner, taking the top prize in 2024, 2025 and 2026. Pembroke also records its third win, earning the title in 2023, 2025 and 2026.

The number of participants taking the anonymous survey continues to climb as does the participation rate among enrollees, which raised the threshold significantly higher this year.

Winners were determined solely by anonymous survey results. Team members answered questions related to their department, such as culture, resources, leadership, career development, and incentives.

“Congratulations to all the 2026 Top Transportation Teams and a special shoutout to three-peat winner Wa-Nee and three-time winner, Pembroke. If you are in school transportation and are looking for whom to model your culture after, these two districts are a great place to start,” said Antonio Civitella, president and CEO of Transfinder, the industry’s leading transportation logistics software and hardware company which launched and oversees the program.

Civitella said it is rewarding to see how these teams are benefiting from the feedback they receive from this program. Armed with the survey results, these districts have made adjustments in their departments to enhance their culture and support each team member.

“All these winners see the value of the Top Transportation Teams program and it shows by the response rates of their teams and the scores they received. I look forward to hearing their stories on how they keep getting better each year.”

Each winner receives one full scholarship to the STN EXPO WEST in Reno, Nev. courtesy of School Transportation News. In addition, Transfinder covers airfare and hotel costs for the leader of each winning team. While at STN EXPO WEST, held July 9-15, leaders from each of the winning teams will participate in a panel discussion on what it takes to create and maintain a Top Transportation Team.
