SCHENECTADY — The Schenectady-based school bus routing company Transfinder recorded its 28th straight year of annual revenue growth in 2025, with the company collecting $50.1 million in revenue, a 19% increase over 2024.
According to Transfinder, which develops routing software and parent and driver apps for school bus transportation, the company added 180 clients in 2025, with 64 of the new clients leaving competing transportation systems.
Going into 2025, President and CEO Antonio Civitella had stated a goal of collecting $50 million in revenue, with the company hitting that mark last year and collecting record revenue.
Civitella said that Transfinder aims to collect $60 million in revenue in 2026.
“Transfinder has never been in a stronger position,” Civitella declared in a statement. “We have the right team, the right solutions, and our finger on the pulse of the industry. We can now serve the largest districts in the country. There is no opportunity in this space that we will not go after.”
The company’s Patrolfinder software was rolled out in 2023 with the Schenectady Police Department as its first client, with the technology allowing officers to track which streets have been patrolled in the city with real-time updates.
Transfinder now has 20 police agency clients in four states for the software.
Revenue drivers for the company in 2025 included a 22% increase in hardware sales, with $11.5 million in revenue, including sales for tablets and RFID card readers. The company credited increased hardware growth to the continued adoption of Wayfinder, its school bus driver app, which provides turn-by-turn navigation and student attendance tracking for districts.
“Perhaps the most meaningful growth isn’t revenue-related at all — it’s student-related,” Civitella said. “At the end of the day, what matters most is the safe transportation of every student.”
