In her review of the book, Gwendolyn Santiago, executive director of the Texas Association of School Business Officials, said, “It is a must-read not only for chief finance officers, but also for chief operations officers and human resources directors. Dan was recognized as one of the best school transportation directors in the nation for a reason. He knows his stuff! Fortunately, he is always willing to share his expertise with others and this book is evidence of that.”

In his foreword, Antonio Civitella, president & CEO of Transfinder, states, “We applaud author Dan Roberts, who brings his more than 40 years in school transportation to the content in this book.” Commenting on why Transfinder published the book, Civitella added, “It is our hope that as transportation directors study its content and incorporate the best practices recommended in it, their transportation operation will benefit and they will add even greater value to their districts.”

In his preface, Dan Roberts, states, “This book is a collection of strategies that have proved successful in districts across the country. The concepts were developed through years of dealing with issues and seeking better ways to operate transportation departments.” He added, “I hope that once some of these strategies are adopted, they instill confidence in all who are committed to excellence in the industry that they are on the right path to success.”

The book is currently being used as the primary textbook for Transfinder’s six-week online workforce development class on management logistics currently being conducted in conjunction with Schenectady County Community College and taught by Dan Roberts. It also will be distributed to all Transfinder clients who will be attending Dan Roberts’ full-day workshop on best practices at the company’s Annual Client Conference being held in Austin from May 6-8, 2013.
